2023 Chevy Bolt EV Charging

Before you purchase a new or pre-owned electric vehicle, you should be aware of the local public charging stations in and near Lynn and know how to use the public chargers properly. At Pride Chevrolet, Inc., we’ve put together a short guide on public charging stations so you’re able to charge up and go off to your next adventure with quickness! Learn more about the importance of public charging to lessen your stress during your daily Swampscott travels.

Available Public Charging

Being knowledgeable about public charging stations is just as important as having a home electric charger installed. Since there are more than 134,000 chargers in the United States and Canada alone, you will always have a place to charge! The easiest way to find the nearest Chevrolet electric charging stations is using our myChevrolet Mobile App, which will not only tell you the closest charging station near you but also the best and most fuel-efficient route to get there. Here are a few of the most popular electric chargers you can find throughout Revere:

  • EVgo
  • ChargePoint
  • EVGateway
  • EVConnect
  • Blink
  • Flo
  • Francis Energy
  • EVCS
  • EV Passport
  • Noodoe
  • Shell Recharge

How to Use a Public Electric Charger

Charging on the go is just as easy as charging at home in East Boston! Once you locate the public charger through the myChevrolet App, here are the four easy steps you can take to charge your electric charger:

  1. Locate the public charger, then park next to it.
  2. Explore the charging provider payment options
  3. Plug in the public charger to your electric vehicle, then allow your vehicle to charge to the amount you need.
  4. Once charged, disconnect the charger and set the charging cable back onto the station.

Common Types of Public Chargers

There are three types of electric chargers. All Chevrolet EVs can use Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 – DC fast public charging. When the DC fast charging is paired with accelerated charging, you won’t have to wait at the charging station for long periods. Refer to your owner’s manual for specific vehicle charging information. Here are the range and charging times for each public charging option:

  • Level 3: 15-100 miles in 30 minutes
  • Level 2: 7-40 miles in 1 hour

Upcoming Leading Charging Network in North America

With more interest in electric cars, General Motors (GM) has partnered up with six other automakers– Kia BMW Group, Honda, General Motors, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz Group, and Stellantis NV– to create a revolutionary charging network across North America. This means there will be at least 30,000 more high-powered charge points in urban and highway locations. Whether you’re commuting around East Boston or you’re outside of MA for a road trip, you can come across a charging station easily when needed. The plan is to implement stations in metropolitan areas, near major highways, and along vacation routes, so anyone who lives, works, or travels in the vicinity can do so conveniently with their EV!

In addition to adding more charge points in the continent, these stations will also deliver a “best-in-class charging experience” that will allow you to relax and recharge before heading back onto the road. Some amenities that will be incorporated are restrooms, food service, and retail operations nearby or within the same complex. These stations will also allow seamless integration with participating automakers’ in-vehicle and in-app experiences, whether you need to pay or you want to plan your route ahead of time. The first stations are expected to be in the United States as early as the summer of 2024.
